Sony today unveiled a new addition to its audio accessories portfolio at the State of Play presentation. For the first time, it is going the wireless route for audio speakers, unveiling the Pulse Elevate during the event. Watch the reveal trailer below.
The company says it has built upon the experience it has gained from the Pulse Elite wireless headset and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds for this latest audio hardware release with "lifelike sound", featuring "technologies like planar magnetic drivers and PlayStation Link into new form factors for players to experience with their favorite games."
Interestingly, Sony is marketing this towards not only PlayStation 5 owners, but desktop PC gamers and mobile players (on PlayStation Portal or phones) too.
A built-in mic on the right speaker will also let players communicate via the device even when playback is happening. Moreover, Sony says AI technology is being used to "identify and remove unwanted background noise" for gaming while communicating, all without any headsets.
The dual speaker setup comes with built-in rechargeable batteries, though exact playback times are yet to be announced.
"Pulse Elevate speakers feature built-in volume controls and are designed to be easily adjusted for the ideal horizontal and vertical orientation in a player’s desktop setup," adds Edwin Foo, Vice President of Product Development at Sony Interactive Entertainment. "Players can further personalize their audio experience on PS5 or PC with the option to adjust EQ, sidetone, volume, and mic mute settings directly via system menus."
As for connectivity, Sony says the speakers can use PlayStation Link, with the included adapter, for ultra-low latency and lossless playback. Beyond that, Bluetooth support with simultaneous connectivity is also confirmed.
The Pulse Elevate wireless speakers have a broad 2026 launch window attached to them. Pricing information is currently missing. The dual speakers will be available in both Midnight Black and White variants.
