It"s giveaway refresh time on the Epic Games Store again, and that means last week"s triple freebie promotion has gone away to make space for the latest drops. Right now, PC gamers can grab copies of Samorost 2 and Project Winter. It looks like the promised Road Redemption offer was pulled at the last minute though. As always, you have seven days to add the latest indie game permanently to your Epic Games Store library.
From the duo, Project Winter lands as an eight-player multiplayer experience that offers social deception as its main draw. The title is set in a harsh, icy wilderness with survival mechanics, where Survivors have to gather resources, repair objectives, and work together to call for rescue. At the same time, Traitors in the group must secretly sabotage those efforts while avoiding detection.
The title touts proximity and private voice chat, radios, and text chat to communicate with each other, with Survivors trying to weed out who are the Traitors, while the latter tries to blend in.
Next, Samorost 2 is yet another Amanita Design-developed game, which have frequently appeared on Epic Games Store giveaways in recent months. Like the studio"s other games, Samorost 2 is a whimsical point-and-click adventure known for its surreal art style and dreamlike storytelling.
The game has players guiding a small gnome on a journey through strange worlds after his dog is kidnapped by alien poachers. Featuring zero dialog, it has players completing environmental puzzles and animations to portray the story.
The Samorost 2 and Project Winter giveaways on the Epic Games Store are live right now, and they will last until September 25. PC gamers can add the title to their library for no cost during the seven-day timeframe before the next freebies arrive. Speaking of the next giveaway, Eastern Exorcist and Jorel’s Brother and The Most Important Game of the Galaxy are the incoming freebies on September 25.
