Samsung could offer a Galaxy S10 model without a curved display

For the past couple of years, Samsung has only offered the option of a curved display on its top-tier Galaxy S and Note series of devices. Apparently, with the upcoming release of the Galaxy S10, that could all change.

It has been rumored for quite some time that the new line of Galaxy S devices would come in three different sizes. But new information is being revealed that the lowest end model of the bunch could arrive with a display that is not curved. Yes, Samsung could be going back to the way it used to do things with its releases, offering the option of a flat or curved display to its customers.

Samsung first employed the option between a flat and a curved screen with the release of its Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. During the time, a curved display was not all that common and the reception to the technology was tepid. The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge would also continue this trend, giving customers an option. But by 2017, Samsung would abandon the flat display and go all in with curved screens for the release of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

Since this is still just a rumor, plans could change. The Galaxy S10 is slated to launch sometime in the early part of 2019.
