Next year"s Galaxy S26 series is catching a lot of eyeballs months before its release. Earlier, it was reported that Samsung may drop the "Plus" model from the lineup and instead add the Galaxy S26 Edge to the lineup.
Then it was reported that the standard and the "Plus" models will be combined, and a Galaxy S26 Pro will take the dais. Recently, it was reported that due to less-than-expected sales, Samsung is done with its slim phone project, and there will be no successor to the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Now, new information is coming up from prominent leaker IceUniverse about the entire Galaxy S26 lineup. As per a Weibo post, IceUniverse claims that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is confirmed to be "postponed." While the leaker did not reveal their source, based on their track record, the news could be legit.
What adds fuel to the fire is a report by WinFuture, which gives a virtual nod to the Galaxy S26 series launch postponement news. At one time, Samsung used to launch the Galaxy S-series sometime around March. But with each passing year, the launch date has only moved up, and this year, the Galaxy S25 series came out on January 22.
The current tip suggests that the January launch may not happen, as Samsung might"ve postponed the Galaxy S26 series launch by several weeks.
Since none of the sources reveal a reason behind this potential rumor, pinpointing one is pretty hard. However, it could be because of the last-minute decision to drop the "Edge" model and go for the S26 Pro instead. For now, we would suggest taking this piece of news with a pinch of salt.
While we wait for more information, let us know in the comments if Samsung is doing any good by canceling the "Edge" model or not.
