If the latest report is to be believed, then the Galaxy S25 Edge was the first and last phone in the "Edge" lineup that Samsung will ever produce. Notably, the company is done making slim phones and would rather shift its attention towards its other flagship phones.
According to South Korean news outlet Newspim (via Jukanlosreve), Samsung is done with the "Edge" series after experimenting with the Galaxy S25 Edge and has scrapped the plans for a Galaxy S26 Edge next year. Reportedly, the company has internally informed its staff about the decision to cancel the Galaxy S26 Edge launch next year.
A Samsung Electronics official said, "I don't know if the slim line will come back, but it doesn't look easy at the moment. I think you can consider it to have essentially disappeared." The report further adds that the next year's Galaxy Unpacked event will feature the same three-model lineup: the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Plus, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The Galaxy S25 Edge, which was launched this year, is expected to be discontinued once the stock sells out. What's confusing is that the outlet says that since the development of the Galaxy S26 Edge is almost complete, a separate launch may still be possible.
The decision seems to be based on the market response for the first Edge model. As per Hana Investment & Securities, the first month sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge stood at 190,000 units, with 1.31 million units sold globally by August 2025. However, the "Plus" model, which the "Edge" was meant to replace, sold around 5.05 million units as of August, a better performance than that of the S25 Edge.
Another Samsung Electronics official shed light on this sudden lineup revision and said, "With the Unpacked event scheduled for January next year approaching, there's a lot of confusion within the company due to the significant changes to the lineup. There's considerable pressure due to the tight schedule."
For now, the situation seems a bit confusing, and with Apple's entry in the slim phone market with the iPhone Air, it remains to be seen if Samsung will quit the slim phone market so soon or not.
