Samsung The Freestyle+ debuts with 430 ISO Lumens and AI OptiScreen

It is January which means that CES 2026 is just around the corner. In anticipation of that event, Samsung has unveiled The Freestyle+, an AI-powered portable projector that it will debut at the upcoming tech trade show. The Freestyle+ focuses on portability, increased brightness, and automated optimization.

Samsung said that its new project uses AI OptiScreen technology to automate the setup, allowing you to point the projector at a surface and begin watching without messing around. It supports 3D Auto Keystone which corrects image distortion on uneven surfaces like corners or curtain and it has Real-time Focus which maintains image clarity automatically while the device is in motion.

To help you get the best picture, The Freestyle+ also supports Screen Fit and Wall Calibration that automatically scale the image to screens and adjust color output based on the wall surface. Finally, it includes the Vision AI Companion which enhances Bixby integration for more natural, conversational interactions.

On the hardware side of things, The Freestyle+ comes with enhanced brightness up to 430 ISO Lumens, nearly double the brightness of the previous model. It also uses a versatile design which includes a compact, 180-degree rotating cylindrical body for projecting on walls, floors, or ceilings.

To go with the visual improvements, the new projector also features immersive audio via a built-in 360-degree speaker with Q-Symphony support to sync with Samsung soundbars.

Another nice bonus of this product is that it features standalone streaming with direct access to Samsung TV Plus, OTT services, and the Samsung Gaming Hub. This eliminates the need for external devices. The Freestyle+ is also easy to transport between rooms and on-the-go.

The Freestyle+ will be showcased at CES 2026 between January 6-9, with a global rollout scheduled for the first half of 2026.
