The Like a Dragon, or Yakuza, franchise from Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio already has a large number of installments and spinoffs. Today at the Tokyo Game Show, the companies unveiled a brand-new remake and a spin-off experience to expand the franchise even further, all coming in a single package.
First up, Yakuza Kiwami 3 follows in the steps of the Kiwami remakes that have landed before from the studio, upgrading everything from the visuals and combat to the questlines. The title was originally released on the PlayStation 3 back in 2009, with Windows and Xbox ports coming in 2021.
Rebuilt using the studio"s Dragon Engine, Yakuza Kiwami 3 brings back the ex-yakuza Kazuma Kiryu as the protagonist for a storyline set in the bustling streets of Okinawa and Tokyo. Aside from the usual high-stakes campaign and whimsical side stories, the title also has an orphanage management activity where Kiryu must take care of the children under his wings.
Meanwhile, the Dark Ties spin-off campaign follows in the footsteps of Yoshitaka Mine, the antagonist of Yakuza 3, to reveal his past. Check out the rather long trailer that shows off both experiences above, while an extensive look at each of the game"s activities, combat, and other aspects can be seen below.
"Having once led a successful startup company, he plunged himself into the dark world of the yakuza by choice after losing everything," says Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, describing the brand-new campaign. "Left with an empty heart, the pursuit to find true bonds drives him forward once again in a dramatic journey colored by exhilarating boxing-based combat, and a variety of engaging side experiences."
The Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties package costs $59.99 and will launch on February 12, 2026, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
