Skype Preview updated for Windows Insiders on the Fast ring

The Universal Skype Preview app for Windows 10 has received some new features, as Microsoft has released a small update to users enrolled in the Fast ring of the Insider Program. The update comes just a few days after Microsoft announced the Skype Insider Program; however, Skype Preview is not part of it.

The update brings the version number to 11.9.256.0, which brings a few new features as Microsoft appears to be streamlining the Skype experience. The update introduces the ability to preview website links that are either received or sent through Skype, and support for third-party media streaming.

You can view the changelog below:

  • Web link preview: You can now show a preview of a website that you either receive or send as a link through Skype.
  • Streaming media content: Support for third-party media streaming.
  • Test video option: To test video, head over to: Settings > Audio & Video test options.

If you are a Windows Insider enrolled in the Fast Ring branch, you may follow the link to the Windows Store to download the latest update.
