Steam servers currently down as Valve's gaming platform goes out globally

If you have been trying access Steam but have been having troubles accessing Valve"s gaming platform, you are definitely not alone. Several hundreds and thousands of users online are reporting that they are noticing the same issue.

The Unofficial Steam Status page says: "There have been 1,744,000 page views on this site in the past hour, this could indicate an issue with Steam." Meanwhile Downdetector also notes 2270 reports in the last hour.

Upon receiving the tip, Neowin checked the issue and trying to access Steam via the web returned the following error:

"An error occurred while processing your request.

There is nothing official from Valve yet, and so we will update the page if more details are available.


Update, October 7 2025, 23.30 GMT: It appears that Steam is coming back online gradually for most users. If you are still not able to access it, it is best to remain patient as services will get restored soon in your region too.
