Google says no outage but Search may be down with "internal server error"

One of Google's most useful features Search may be broken at the moment as it is frequently failing to complete user requests.

Google Search could be having different issues at the moment and it has seemingly been onging for the last several hours. While trying to look something up on its Search engine, users could be getting an error as their request fails to complete. Upon the failure the Search page throws up a "Server error" status with the following message: " We're sorry but it appears that there has been an internal server error while processing your request. Our engineers have been notified and are working to resolve the issue. ... Please try again later."

Interestingly, Google Search Status reports "no incidents" though Downdetector has confirmed a big spike highlighting issues.
