Still looking for a Lumia 950 XL in the UK? You can now get one for £269.99

It"s been two and a half months since the Microsoft Store ran out of Lumia 950 XL stock in the UK. This week, Microsoft finally deleted the listing for its Windows 10 Mobile flagship from the store - so if you were still hoping to buy one, you"ll have to take your business elsewhere.

Various retailers are continuing to offer the handset, albeit in rapidly diminishing numbers. Leading independent device retailer Carphone Warehouse no longer has any 950 XL stock; others, such as Expansys, now list Microsoft"s entire Windows phone range as having been "discontinued".

But Mobile Phones Direct is still selling the Lumia 950 XL, and it"s now offering the handset for £269.99, including delivery, although it"s only available in black. Be aware that that price does not include the Display Dock, which the Microsoft Store had previously included as a freebie with sales of the 950 XL and its smaller Lumia 950 sibling.

The Display Dock supports the PC-like Continuum mode in Windows 10 Mobile, allowing owners to use a mouse and keyboard with the device when connected to a secondary display. You can still buy the Dock from other retailers, such as Amazon, which is selling it for around £56, or as little as £42 via third-party Marketplace sellers.

The Lumia 950 XL"s key specs include:

  • 5.7-inch AMOLED with Quad HD (2560x1440px) resolution
  • Octa-core 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB onboard storage (plus microSD card slot)
  • 20MP PureView rear camera with auto focus, 6-lens optics, triple-LED flash, optical image stabilization and 4K video recording at 30fps
  • 5MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens and 1080p video recording
  • Bluetooth 4.1
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with Wi-Fi Direct support
  • Qi wireless charging
  • 3340mAh battery
  • USB 3.1 port with Type-C connector
  • 151.9 x 78.4 x 8.3mm; 165g
