The Outer Worlds 2 announced by Obsidian with an amusing trailer

Obsidian today announced a sequel to its sci-fi RPG, The Outer Worlds. The Outer Worlds 2 is set in an entirely new star system with a new crew.

Unveiled with a riveting trailer that tells us next to nothing about the game and rather amusingly prefers to be meta about it too, the announcement comes with no release date and avoids any grand expectations. You can watch the trailer above.

The Outer Worlds and its two story expansions were published by Private Division but as Microsoft has now completed its acquisition of Obsidian and all of its IP, The Outer Worlds 2 will be published by Xbox Game Studios.

As there isn"t much else known about the game other than its title, it"s hard to say when the game will see a release date. Obsidian is also working on Grounded, which is receiving a major update soon, and Avowed, which was announced last year.
