This big ultra-wide OLED monitor from LG is now nearly half the price

OLED gaming monitors are pretty common these days, but they are still significantly more expensive than IPS screens, with plenty of models priced at north of a thousand dollars. If you are in the market for an ultra-wide OLED display, LG has a very lucrative offering that cuts nearly half the price of the LG 39GX90SA-W, a WQHD ultra-wide curved gaming monitor on Amazon.

The LG39GX90SA-W is a 39-inch curved (800R) OLED WHQD (3,440 x 1440 pixels) monitor with a refresh rate of 240 Hz. Thanks to the OLED technology, this monitor offers inky-deep blacks and a nearly instant response time of just 0.03 ms (gray-to-gray). The image gets extra smooth thanks to G-SYNC compatibility and AMD"s FreeSync Premium, two technologies that reduce stuttering by adapting the refresh rate to the frame rate.

While the monitor works best when connected to a PC or console, it is pretty smart on its own. It is powered by webOS 24, which means you can access streaming services and cloud gaming services without connecting the display to any device. Just hook it up to your Wi-Fi, and you are good to play games on Nvidia GeForce NOW, Amazon Luna, and other services.

The display in the LB39GX90SA-W is covered with a special anti-glare surface that reduces light distractions and reflections. It also supports DisplayHDR True Black 400, 98.5% of DCI-P3 color gamut, and 1.5M-to-1 contrast ratio.

As for ports, the monitor includes two HDMI 2.1 (one with eARC capabilities), DisplayPort 1.4, two USB-A ports, one USB-C port with display output, a headphone jack, one RJ45 Ethernet port, and a power plug.
