Two games are free this week on the Epic Games Store

The Epic Games Store refreshes its giveaway promotion every Thursday, and that means it"s time to grab a couple of new games. The latest titles are Eastern Exorcist and Jorel’s Brother and The Most Important Game of the Galaxy. As always, you have seven days to add the latest indie game permanently to your Epic Games Store library.

The double giveaway comes through with Eastern Exorcist first. This is a hand‑drawn 2D side‑scrolling action RPG with a focus on Chinese mythology. As the title suggests, you take the role of an exorcist battling demons and spirits across an ink-painting-inspired world, featuring cutscenes that are described as being opera-like. The 2021-released title comes from the Chinese developer Wildfire Game.

For those who have the Epic Games Store mobile app installed, this is also the game that"s free on Android and iOS right now.

At the same time, the next giveaway, with its rather long name Jorel’s Brother and The Most Important Game of the Galaxy, is based on the award‑winning Brazilian cartoon Jorel’s Brother. Released in 2023, this is a point-and-click adventure where you take the role of an eight-year-old boy who lives in the shadow of his popular brother.

After this unnamed protagonist finds a mysterious video game that falls from the sky, a quest kicks off that has him facing alien spaceships, authoritarian clowns, extraterrestrial bureaucracy, and bizarre mini‑games.

The Eastern Exorcist and Jorel’s Brother and The Most Important Game of the Galaxy giveaways on the Epic Games Store are live right now, and they will last until October 2. PC gamers can add the title to their library for no cost during the seven-day timeframe before the next freebies arrive. Speaking of the next giveaway, the open-world survival crafting game Nightingale is the incoming freebie on the same day.
