The high-profile corporate espionage case between VIA Technologies and D-Link will go to trial on Monday in Taipei, Taiwan. According to a VIA filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) today, company chairwoman Cher Wang and her husband, Chen Wen-chi, president of VIA, will attend the trial.
The two, along with Jeffrey Chang, a former employee at VIA"s wholly-owned subsidiary VIA Networking, are charged with stealing software code from rival D-Link. If convicted, Wang and Chen could face up to four years in prison and have to pay NT$100 million in compensation while Chang could spend up to three years in prison.
