Windows 8 integrates Xbox games like Pinball FX2

One of the big selling points of Windows 8 is the integration between the operating system and Xbox Live. With “Games for Windows Live” never really taking off, Microsoft is taking another swing by linking their desktop and tablet OS with the gaming system in hopes of increasing their market penetration.

Zen Studios announced that they are taking part in this new program by releasing Pinball FX2 as a free download for the Windows 8 Consumer Preview that was released today. Currently the only table available is Sorcerer’s Lair, but the company plans to port all of their tables to Windows 8. It’s unclear whether users who have already purchased these tables on Xbox Live will continue to receive them for free or not.

Pinball FX2 took the crown as the most downloaded game on Xbox Live Arcade in 2011. Zen Studios publisehd the following press release earlier today.
