Years after the infamous data breach, Ashley Madison is paying out $11.2 million to users

A couple years ago, Ashley Madison, an online dating site that is marketed to people who are in relationships, experienced a data breach, that would eventually result in 32 million users having their information exposed. Months after the initial incident, there would be more data leaked to the internet, deaths, and the CEO of the parent company of the firm stepping down from his position.

While the above incidents are quite tragic, it appears that problems for Ashley Madison aren"t quite over. According to a new report, the firm is settling its litigation filed by millions of its users with a pay out of $11.2 million. Although it might not sound like a lot, those with valid claims will be able to file for a maximum of $3,500, depending on what kind of losses they suffered because of the incident.

Despite the site"s problems in the past, it has made important strides to beef up security and protect its users, allowing it to continue to grow and remain popular.
