HMD Global has done a pretty good job so far with the Nokia brand, producing a handful of handsets that are both interesting and affordable. As the popular mid-range Nokia 6 makes its way to more regions, it appears that the firm"s next rumored smartphone could arrive by month"s end.

While the firm has typically produced mid-range or lower-tier handsets like the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5, there has been a rumor floating around that a device with top-end specifications is in development. Although it was previously known as the Nokia 9, it has now been confirmed that it will instead arrive as the Nokia 8. The device will offer Qualcomm"s Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, and will come in an array of fun colors.

For now, pricing is not completely clear, but according to the source, it could arrive for a little below €600 when it is announced on July 31. While the moniker change is interesting, it isn"t completely unexpected, as it was reported last week when HMD Global’s Marketing Director Pekka Rantala discussed plans to release the likes of the Nokia 2, Nokia 7, and Nokia 8.

Although the information is coming from a trusted source, there is always the chance that many aspects of this report can change. If the release date and price are correct, it should make for an interesting option for those looking for something different in the Android market place. Hopefully, this handset makes its way outside of Asia and to other markets like Europe and the United States in a timely manner.
