You can now use Photoshop inside ChatGPT to edit photos

Back in October, OpenAI announced a new generation of apps that users can interact with directly inside the ChatGPT experience. Booking.com, Canva, Coursera, Figma, Expedia, Spotify, and Zillow were among the first apps to become available.

Now, Adobe has brought its popular Photoshop, Acrobat, and Adobe Express products to the more than 800 million ChatGPT users worldwide. Photoshop is one of the most powerful image-editing tools available, but it has not become mainstream among general consumers due to its steep learning curve. The new Photoshop app inside ChatGPT has the potential to democratize Photoshop by making its capabilities accessible to millions of users through simple conversational interactions.

With the Photoshop app in ChatGPT, users can highlight specific people in a photo, add a new effect to the background or a specific object in a photo, and more.

Here"s how the feature works:

  • To get started, users should go to ChatGPT > Settings > Apps & Connectors. From the apps list, users can select Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Express, or Adobe Acrobat, and click Connect.
  • To use Photoshop in ChatGPT, users can simply mention it in their prompt, such as “Adobe Photoshop, make the people pop in my vacation photo.”
  • They can further refine the image with additional prompts. After applying each edit, they can click on a selection and fine-tune with sliders to adjust the image as needed.

Similarly, users can use Adobe Express to create invitations, flyers, and more. Also, Adobe Acrobat can be used to edit PDFs directly in the chat, extract text or tables inside a PDF, convert files to PDF, and more.

All three Adobe apps, Photoshop, Adobe Express, and Acrobat are now available for free to ChatGPT users worldwide on ChatGPT desktop, web, and iOS. Adobe Express for ChatGPT is also available on Android, while the other apps will be coming in the future.
