Yes, it is impossible to play most Steam games without the client, due to the DRM protection.

thanks for the tip. this is exactly what i've been missing in my raspberry pi game streamer. Once this is available then it should be very easy to have the pi remote stream horizon then launch my games from one central place. excellent :)

unfortunately this project is very early days. I tried the latest snapshot last night and it pulled in all my steam games. I was able to add it into nvidia shield streamable games and navigate it via the PI. however it didn't see uplay or origin. It's also painfully slow java... i'm sure it'll get better through
