Windows 8 RT Flash Player Tool (whitelister)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys so I been working on a script that allows users to add any website they want to the whitelist so that they can view that specific flash website on any Windows 8 RT device. Give it a try if you have an RT device. My script will also have an option to copy over the custom whitelist that?s in the script as well. Let me know if you have any questions!

Windows RT Adobe Flash Tool.zip

Care to post some screenshots?

Here you go :)

I made it very basic so the average user would not have trouble using it. I choose a script because it requires no install and its under 1 MB in size

if we can get a few users to confirm this works, can put it up on the front page...also, why is the word Adobe in the name of the tool?

For sure, I?ve had a good 5 people tell me it works. Yeah I can change that, I thought it would be a bad idea. I just can't think of a name that makes sense. If I use "Windows RT Flash tool" people will think it?s a firmware flash tool. If you have any suggestions by all means let me know. I can fix it ASAP. Maybe Windows RT Flash player tool?

I was thinking of putting a video together as well.

It works great so far. It does take about 2 minutes for it to add the custom address to the whitelist. That?s just because of the algorithm I used, I started making this tool a few days ago so i'm looking for input. However it works it does the job I've had people test there special tv show websites and stuff and they all said it was working.

Video coming shortly!

Please call it Flash PLAYER tool. I thought it was related to Firmware flashing when I read the title.

I know sorry, I changed the title throughout the whole app. trying to edit the thread right now its not working..

Maybe a mod could change it to Windows RT Whitelist Flash player tool

Here is the latest update

Video coming shortly!

Please reply to this thread if possible when you have tested the script and it is working :)

Thank you,

Two users have said that when selecting any option it says "duplicate files exists or cannot find file" I will have this fixed in the next release I have found the root cause,

however here is a temporary workaround

1. Open the run command and type %temp% and delete anything inside that folder (this will clear your temp directory)

2. Now run the script again and you should not have any issues.

Please report any bugs I will attempt to resolve them ASAP.

Thank you guys for all your support, I will update this thread as soon as the new release is available

Question...

Are you able to create a specific tool that automates this process for a certain site? Or maybe add an option within the current tool?

Many many colleges use a website called MyMathLab or MyLabsPlus to assign homework assignments. This website uses Flash but is not on Microsoft's whitelist (and apparently are in no hurry to do so since I contacted their tech support team to let them know that it's not working for me... they said it would be about 8 months before they started supporting 8/RT).

I was able to get it to work by doing some research and figuring out what sites need to be manually added to the whitelist... it's a list of like 15 sites that the main site references.

I purchased my Surface RT tablet for this very purpose, I wanted to be able to do my math homework from it... but I was disappointed to find out that it didnt work (without me jumping through hoops).

If you're able to do this, I can get the list of sites to you, otherwise it's ok. I appreciate the work you've put into the Whitelist Flash Tool!

Hey what I can do is add thoes 15 sites to the custom list option if you like? since I know a lot of colleges and school use it. :)

Sure, I added these sites to my whitelist:

<domain>northlakecollege.edu</domain>
<domain>cengage.com</domain>
<domain>coursecompass.com</domain>
<domain>ecollege.com</domain>
?<domain>mathxl.com</domain>
<domain>myitlab.com</domain>
<domain>mylabsplus.com</domain>
<domain>mymathlab.com</domain>
<domain>mypearson.com</domain>
<domain>pearsoncmg.com</domain>
<domain>pearsoned.com</domain>
<domain>safeassign.com</domain>
<domain>interactmath.com</domain>
[/CODE]

I believe that's all that's needed for it to work. I also had to disable the pop up blocker for each one of those sites, but that's a whole different issue that's not related to the Flash Whitelist tool. The first domain is for my college... so I assume it's not necessarily needed, it's up to you to add it or not.

Edit: Here's a PDF showing instructions and the list of domains from a different college: http://centralaz.edu/Documents/Distance_Learning/Online_Learning/GoogleChromeBrowserSettings.pdf

    • Hello, I am not as familiar with AMD CPUs as I am with Intel's, but as I understand it, that's a mid-range CPU from about three years ago.  I would think it to be fine for everyday casual-type use.  A larger SSD might be better, but with storage prices these days that's a decision that has to be carefully thought about. • Ocenaudio 3.19.5 by Razvan Serea Ocenaudio is a full featured, fast and easy to use audio and music editor. It is the ideal software for people who need to edit and analyze audio files without complications. Ocenaudio also has powerful features that will please more advanced users. To assist ocenaudio development, a powerful toolset of audio editing, analysis and manipulation called Ocen Framework was created. ocenaudio is also based on Qt framework, a well known library for cross-platform development. Cross-platform support ocenaudio is available for all major operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Native applications are generated for each platform from a common source, in order to achieve excelent performance and seamless integration with the operating system. All versions of ocenaudio have a uniform set of features and the same graphical interface, so the skills you learn in one platform can be used in the others. VST plugins support Ocenaudio supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins, giving its users access to numerous effects. Like the native effects, VST effects can use real-time preview to aide configuration. Real-time preview of effects Applying effects such as EQ, gain and filtering is an important part of audio editing. However, it is very tricky to get the desired result by adjusting the controls configuration alone: you must listen the processed audio. To ease the configuration of audio effects, ocenaudio has a real time preview feature: you hear the processed signal while adjusting the controls. The effect configuration window also includes a miniature view of the selected audio signal. You can navigate on this miniature view in the same way as you do on the main interface, selecting parts that interest you and listening to the effect result in real time. Multiselection for delicate editions To speed up complex audio files editing, ocenaudio includes multi-selection. With this amazing tool, you can simultaneously select different portions of an audio file and listen, edit or even apply an effect to them. For example, if you want to normalize only the excerpts of an interview where the interviewee is talking, just select them and apply the effect. Eficient edition of large files With ocenaudio, there is no limit to the length or the quantity of the audio files you can edit. Using an advanced memory management system, the application keeps your files open without wasting any of your computer's memory. Even in files several hours long, common editing operations such as copy, cut or paste happen almost instantly. Fully featured spectrogram Besides offering an incredible waveform view of your audio files, ocenaudio has a powerful and complete spectrogram view. In this view, you can analyze the spectral content of your audio signal with maximum clarity. Advanced users will be surprised to find that the spectrogram settings are applied in real time. The display is updated immediately when altering features such as the number of frequency bands, window type and size and dynamic range of the display. Ocenaudio 3.19.5 changelog: Fixes crashes related to audio devices on Windows (DirectSound and ASIO) Fixes several crashes and memory corruption issues Fixes opening several headerless files at once, which previously dropped all but one Improves batch export by suggesting and remembering the destination folder Fixes accented and non-Latin characters in VST plug-in and compressed-archive file names Adds zstd compression support and updates the archive library Other bug fixes and improvements Download: Ocenaudio 64-bit | Portable | ~40.0 MB (Freeware) Download: Ocenaudio for Linux and Mac OS View: Ocenaudio Homepage | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • I did think about a Echo show once and it would be useful to see what my cameras see. But my brother got one and I changed my mind. Adverts and not really worth the price just to see my cameras. I have a load of dots and a Echo Gen 4, they will do.
    • I asking where you are from or live, because if you don't live in the U.K, why are you so bothered? That is another reason I voted out, E.U and people poking their noses in where they should not be. Sadly we still have it, Trump, and his cronies. Putin as well and no doubt others. It makes no difference what we believe, if we made the right choice or not, we are out. As I said to someone when the news first broke we have voted out, we just need to make the best of it. I have no problems with closer ties to the E.U, we still need to trade. Just don't want to be in their club.
