Originally released for iOS back in July of ?09, Cartoon Wars is finally hitting the Android Market today, courtesy of Gamevil who is offering the game free of charge. Mixing a healthy dose of tower defense and a sidescrolling RTS, Cartoon Wars gives players control of a small army where the player must carefully choose the units he/she will use when going into battle against the opposing force.

If you like a little story with your RTS?ing, it goes a little something like this:

Two tribes existed in the Cartoon World; the vicious Color Tribe and their slaves, the Black and White Cartoon Tribe.

For generations the Black and White Cartoon Tribe were treated as property, and forced into slavery.

Fortunately? some with bigger ideas existed amongst them.

They gathered and began a revolt to free themselves, taking the battle to the Color Tribe.

The inevitable war has begun? become the hero of the Black and White Cartoons and set your people free.

Already receiving rave reviews in both the Market (and App Store), Cartoon Wars treats players with all out, balls out, action packed battles, while still offering a surprising amount of depth. You find the app for free right now in the Android Market. Once you give a try, let me what you guys think.

Pretty fun game. I'll have to try it on another phone to confirm, but I'm guessing it's running slow on my phone. The timer gets slower and slower the further along I get (and with more action going on).

I'm starting to get a little bored with it now, but I've put way too many hours into it this soon - probably somewhere around 15 already, and I didn't download it until seeing this topic the other day. Considering I've got that much playtime out of it already, I'm not really complaining. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Up to Level 43 now :) Been playing it at work when the jobs run out :D

I'm a little addicted >.< it's bad!

Level 85 myself. Gets harder leveling up your characters and I am not paying real money to go faster. Something fun to pass the time.

    • Ridiculous claim that the labor cost difference of $6000 annually would increase cost per phone by $200. The employees produce 3 phones per month or what?

    • Never used the G7 Pro, but I've never had a good experience with that style of d-pad and fighting games.
    • And I just bought a seat cushion for my mesh chair. The chair feels nice but the first time I sat in it with boxers, I realized I don't like the feel of mesh on my legs. 😂
