Teenager Hospitalized After Playing Video Games For 4 Straight Days

Recommended Posts

COLUMBUS, Ohio (CBS Cleveland) ? A 15-year-old Columbus boy was hospitalized for dehydration after locking himself in his room to play an Xbox game for four consecutive days.

WCMH-TV reports that Tyler Rigby collapsed and was rushed to the hospital Tuesday after a ?Modern Warfare 3? marathon that left him severely dehydrated.

?It?s like he was looking at me but he wasn?t there. It was like he was looking through me,? Jennifer Thompson, Tyler?s aunt, told WCMH. ?We were talking and I heard a thump and I looked over and he just fell.?

Jessie Rawlins, Tyler?s mom, said he came out of his bedroom to eat a snack or use the bathroom.

?I was very scared. I thought he was going to die,? Rawlins told the station. ?He just fell over three times.?

Tyler is expected to be OK after medics pumped his body full of fluids, but he won?t be playing video games anytime soon.

?The Xbox is gone,? Rawlins told the station.

Almost seems impossible to play a game for 4 days. I've had pretty long marathons, but nothing like this.

That's some super parenting there. When I was a kid I didn't get to sit in my room playing games all day. I had chores to do and I was expected to be at the dinner table to eat with everyone else. Who just let's their kid lock themselves away in their room for days at a time? At least they got rid of the Xbox, kid obviously has some serious issues if he can't stop playing a game long enough to get a drink of water or eat.

he had the tea and was hooked to the B.R.A.I.D. It's impossible to leave sometimes. that wasn't no xbox... that's what all moms call game devices they don't understand.

wow this kid sucks and IMO deserves it if you cannot marathon it and keep your self alive while doing so... then dont do it, what an idiot I have had loads of gaming marathons but my longest marathon was for PHP coding I stayed up for 9 days straight working on a clients website by the end of it i could not talk (i just slurred my words and spoke jibberish) but i was alive

I don't blame the parents or the xbox.. It's summer vacation..

When I was that age I would say up days straight without sleep just cause I could.. at 15 you need to know your own limits.

I'll just say what i said elsewhere on this:

Eh, would've been better if he didn't survive tbh. Any decrease in the population of the obviously stupid people is a good thing after all.

If everyone who did something stupid when they were young died, our species wouldn't last another generation.

Don't blame on the game. It's your fault that you don't pay attention to your son. He should be taken away from them for being bad parents.

He's 15. Hardly an age that requires parental supervision.

He is 15.

Is not unusual for people 1 year older to be looking after themselves. You wouldn't have to expect to feed a 15 year old, you assume he would rink water and eat when needed. The parents may very well tried to go in but shouted off by the kid. They probably might assume that the kid went outside while they worked or he slept when everyone slept.

    • I made a new Cinematic/Trailer for the game, this will be the intro, still a work in progress!  I also updated the Steam page with a ton of new screenshots! 👀 https://store.steampowered.com/app/3925340/Incoherence_Dark_Rooms/

Microsoft confirmed June 23, 2026, that its Fairwater campus in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, is fully operational — and the engineering behind it makes the facility something fundamentally different from every data center that came before it. Where conventional cloud infrastructure racks up general-purpose servers and parcels out workloads to each one independently, Fairwater links hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GB200 Blackwell GPUs into a single, coherent cluster using a two-story building design, 800-gigabit-per-second Ethernet fabric, and a proprietary networking protocol co-developed with OpenAI and NVIDIA. The result, according to Microsoft, is the closest thing to a purpose-built AI supercomputer that any company has ever placed in commercial operation. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/319205/20260627/microsoft-opens-fairwater-wisconsin-ai-campus-runs-one-supercomputer-via-800g-ethernet.htm
