I finally did it! Ordered myself a 3DS XL + Zelda :D

Recommended Posts

I have been undecided about getting a 3DS XL for a few weeks and today decided to just order it :D

Arrives tomorrow with Zelda:OoT. Can't wait!

Bit of a pointless thread sorry but I am excited, first new handheld I have bought in over 6 years!

I think you'll enjoy it.

Trust me, it was worth waiting for the 3DS XL. I bought the original and it was pretty underwhelming. I hardly used it it. I use my XL quite often.

What colour did you end up getting?

I was boring and went with the silver one.

Yeah almost bought a 3DS at launch but felt the screens were too small and the unit was not that comfortable to hold for long periods (hard edges). The XL is lovely though. Beautiful screens. Much more comfortable to hold for long play times.

How the edges are definitely doesn't decide how comfortable it is. For example, the psp is nice and round, yet i find it far less comfortable than the standard 3ds is. Also, the increased size of the XL makes it a good bit less portable than the standard model.

Arrived a few hours ago. Screen is lovely and the 3D effect looks ten times better than the 3DS. Really happy with it. ?158 with Zelda is a pretty good deal IMHO. If anyone is on the fence about buying one DO IT! Trust me you will love the new screen. Zelda looks just amazing in 3D. It is truly beautiful :)

Now bring on an Advance Wars game Nintendo. PLEASE!!!!

completely worth it

I thought about it and traded in my 3DS for the XL shortly after it came out, and I haven't second guessed it once

4 things make it worth it in my book

1. (the biggest point) the stylus was moved back to the right side like on the DS Lite

2. the bigger screen makes games like Oot much more enjoyable. the screen of the XL is just about the same size as the Vita

3. the battery is a little better, which is always a good thing

4. I have slightly bigger hands so the XL fits a lot more comfortably in my hands then the regular one did

I must be boring too, I also bought a silver one :p

silver one? we only had the option between red and blue here in the states :(

a new advance wars game would be awesome. I also still want a 3DS Majora's Mask :p

What games do you have Brando? I am thinking of picking up Mario Kart for the online play :)

Mario Kart 7 is loads of fun, it's just as good if not better in some areas as the Wii version

even with the 3D effect aside,

the wii one doesn't even come close to the 3ds one ...

so much fun, plus there's also star fox (awesome 3d effects)

mario land (not too bad either)

Got one stored away for my daughter for Christmas.. she's got one of the original DS models and has been bugging me to upgrade for a while... I'm really tempted to tear into it though being a huge Zelda fan... I can always blame the open box and dead batteries on Santa's clumsiness later.

:) Hehe.

Well, before you give it to her on Christmas it might be worthwhile opening it and charging it anyway so she can play it straight away on Xmas morning.

Edit: Plus there might be a firmware update to download. I can't remember if I had to update my XL when I got it or not.

Yeah definitely charge it! My dad always made sure any Christmas presents were charged up and tested to make sure they actually work. Such a horrible day if you get a faulty unit as you have to wait a day or two to be able to get a replacement, even longer if it is a hard to find item. A friend had a Wii that was DOA but he never checked before so Christmas day was ruined as all their other presents were Wii related :( Then to make things worse he had to wait 3 weeks until the store had any stock so he could get a replacement. Protip: Always check your presents work before Christmas!
