To be honest, if you can get a Galaxy Nexus over Nexus 4, I would do it.

Check with your cell phone provider. Nexus 4 isn't as good as the Galaxy Nexus, however the Nexus 4 is cheaper and easier to get with out contract.

youre right, it isn't as good, its much better than the galaxy nexus. Please explain your logic behind that comment, that just makes no sense.

Well there are pros/cons to both devices. The LG is better in the sense that CPU/GPU are better, however, it doesn't have LTE (yet), and storage options are lackluster. There might be other negatives that could be subjective, ex: design. In my eyes, the Nexus 4 is a huge disappointment for a device carrying the Nexus moniker.

I am confused by your guys' use of the term "Google Play". I thought that was a place to buy apps using an android device.

The Google Play Store is a place where you can purchase Apps., Music, Movies/TV shows, Books, Magazine, and Nexus/ChromeBook devices. Go to the link and choose your category on the left hand side.

when the galaxy nexus first came out only 1 carrier, Verizon, had the 32gb and LTE. All other galaxy nexus' on every other carrier were 16gb with hspa+, just like the nexus 4. The Verizon nexus was not normal, and was probably the last nexus device they will even get. With that said, compared to the galaxy nexus the new nexus is overall better. You are the only person who ive seen say they like the slippery cheap plastic by Samsung over the new LG nexus.

Wow, I had no idea. It's almost like I need a Nexus in order to buy a Nexus LOL

Yep, the Galaxy Nexus GSM 32GB was cancelled, for reasons really unknown. Well, the Nexus 4 could be introduced with LTE, and join Verizon/Sprint. I don't think the Galaxy Nexus is by any means the last Nexus device that Verizon will see. Verizon did butcher the Galaxy Nexus, but I think Google wouldn't risk losing a big part of Verizon's market like that. I never said I like the "cheap plastic" over the Nexus 4. I personally haven't seen or held the Nexus 4 in person, so I can't make that judgement until I hold the device in my hands. Having said that, I hate the idea of using glass on the back panel - I figured manufacturers would have learned after the whole iPhone 4 fiasco. IMO, it's a stupid design decision.

I generally hate Samsung, their build quality is not the greatest, but I hate LG even more. I had very bad experiences with LG phones in the past. I hope Google partners up with HTC for the next Nexus device.

This is the unlocked version. Provider specific versions that will come later will have LTE options. Unfortunately it may be difficult to make a device that would support all LTE options (especially since one like T-Mobile doesn't even have them yet).

Are you serious? The Nexus 4 has a significantly faster CPU, more ram, a better screen (Pentile on the GN, non Pentile on the N4), a much more powerful GPU (The GPU in the GN is the same GPU as in the Samsung Galaxy S... dated)and it isn't made out of cheap and slippery plastic.

Google has not made any announcements about any LTE device, what they did say was that they refused to play VZW's games to be able to release an LTE version, and I highly doubt they will now, Google rightly is demanding that VZW not fuss with the device and let Google update it when they choose to, VZW won't allow that, so it's game over for VZW, would love to see Motorola pull the plug on VZW too, see how long till they change their minds once they loose all their best selling phones

Nexus 4 - No LTE, Only 8 gb of internal memory (compared to 32gb on galaxy)

Agree that Nexus 4 has other upgrades over Nexus but the above would are important factors for me.

Typically for an upgrade, I expect the replacement to exceed the previous in all area's, some portions of the Nexus 4 feel like downgrades.

I have a Galaxy Nexus (T-Mobile) 32gb.

I've not had any apps lag, and the OS seems snappy / responsive.

The touch screen been responsive / haven't had any issues with it.

Another reason why the hardware upgrades cpu/gpu/touch screen are not compelling too me.

Also in case any of my phone / devices with otterbox so aesthetics are not a big reason for me either.

I'm not saying, however, the Nexus 4 is a bad phone.

I like the fact Nexus 4 is inexpensive and easy to get off contract.

The lack of LTE is not a big problem, at this moment in time most reviewers are unable to even tell the difference in speed between LTE and HSDPA enabled devices due to coverage being so spotty.

Exactly this. This phone is more-or-less targeting pay-as-you-go users who probably won't have access to LTE for few more years, anyway. But I do agree with the general sentiment that the glass on the back of the Nexus 4 was a bad design decision. It looks nice, until it is cracked. I doubt there will be much anyone can do with it once it is cracked. Sure, it was a bad design decision on the iPhone 4/4S as well, but at least Apple has the support to back it up. They only charge like $30 to replace the back of the iPhone 4/4S. I don't think we will see anything similar from Google or LG support... their advice will likely be "buy a new phone if it bothers you" or wrap it in a case so you can't see the back anymore.

I'd rather have a world 3G pentaband phone than a specific carrier locked LTE phone.

Seriously don't know why people bitching about LTE. Guess those are the rednecks never travel.

To be fair, you can get a carrier locked LTE phone that supports 3G worldwide on Verizon or AT&T.... just be prepared to pay an arm and a leg for international coverage plans (like my boss does).

Personally, I would rather have the unlocked phone and then have a SIM for the region I'm visiting because the price of the international coverage plans from Verizon and AT&T should just be criminal.

Steep price to carry your local phone number wherever you go. I mostly just want data coverage wherever I go..could careless about my carrier phone number tbh.

Alright, first off, let me dismiss both of the arguments presented thus far.

Galaxy Nexus has LTE, Nexus 4 doesn't: If OP is considering a Nexus 4, he's obviously on a GSM carrier, since that's all it's available for. The GSM Galaxy Nexus didn't have LTE either. So that's one argument dismissed.

Nexus 4 only has 8 and 16 GB versions, Galaxy Nexus had 32 GB: If OP is considering a Nexus 4, he's obviously on a GSM carrier, since that's all it's available for. The GSM Galaxy Nexus is only available in 16 GB. So that's the second argument dismissed.

Now you're left with the Nexus 4 being a far a better phone than the Galaxy Nexus.

Edit: Whoops, I ignore TMobile usually, haha. Apparently TMobile got a 32GB Galaxy Nexus?

Edit again: Wait, no... I don't see a 32 GB version for T-Mobile anywhere. Jason Stillion, are you sure your phone is 32 GB? What is the model number? The 32 GB GSM Galaxy Nexus was never released.

Please. The Nexus 4 is miles ahead of the Galaxy Nexus. I know, I have one in my hand right now.

Of course, if you leave the cost out from the equation, then anything is possible.

    • The only reason I want to know where you from is because if you are not from the U.K, then why should you care what we in the U.K do or don't do? Racist I am not, I am fed up with the amount coming over here and feel they can come over here and think we need to support them. Do you know how much it costs this country to support these people coming over here? Even when we give them a place to live it is not good enough. We had a barge that was being used to house immigrants, oh but that was not good enough. A mate said to me at the time, when he was homeless, he would have been happy to live on the barge, instead of ending up sleeping on a bench on the beach. I am not scared to say what my family heritage is, unlike you who is scared to say where they are from or where they live. Father side U.S, mother side Wales, still have family living in the U.S. A mate who sadly died a few years ago, had a load of people from different races recording in his studio, I got on with all of them. Skin colour don't bother me, where they are from don't bother me. Religion don't bother me as long as they don't push it onto me and it is not crazy stuff. I am not religious. But if you are not living in the U.K, then why should you care if we are in the E.U or not? This the problem, too many people poking their noses into where it don't belong. But you believe what you believe, if you think I am racist, then be it, I really do not care. Just grow a pair

    • Microsoft released Windows 11 KB5102558, KB5095615 Setup and Recovery updates by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft released the newest preview update (C-release) under KB5095093. Alongside those, Microsoft also released new dynamic updates. For those who may not know, dynamic updates bring improvements to the Windows Recovery process in the form of Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) updates, which are also called Safe OS updates. The dynamic updates also affect the Setup file binaries in the form of Setup updates. These Dynamic Update packages are meant to be applied to existing Windows images prior to their deployment. Dynamic Updates also help preserve Language Pack (LP) and Features on Demand (FODs) content during the upgrade process. VBScript, for example, is currently an FOD on Windows 11 24H2. This time both recovery and setup updates were released for Windows 11. The company writes: "KB5095186: Safe OS Dynamic Update for Windows 11, version 26H1: June 23, 2026 This update makes improvements to the Windows recovery environment (WinRE). After installing this update, the WinRE version installed on the device should be 10.0.28000.2335. KB5102558: Setup Dynamic Update for Windows 11, versions 24H2 and 25H2: June 23, 2026 This update makes improvements to Windows setup binaries or any files that setup uses for feature updates in Windows 11, version 24H2 and Windows 11, version 25H2. KB5095615: Safe OS Dynamic Update for Windows 11, versions 24H2 and 25H2: June 23, 2026 This update makes improvements to the Windows recovery environment (WinRE). After installing this update, the WinRE version installed on the device should be 10.0.26100.8737." Microsoft notes that both the Recovery and Setup updates will be downloaded and installed automatically via the Windows Update channel.
