PLANT CITY, FL - A Plant City mother, charged with murdering her baby son, made her first appearance in court this morning.

Talae Akei Thomas was denied bond. In court this morning, the judge said that Thomas told investigators that her baby died in the hospital 5 weeks ago and what she brought home was the devil and that she killed the devil.

On Thursday evening, Plant City Police responded to Grant Street & Alexander Street regarding a suspicious call. When officers arrived, they found Thomas laying in the median. She told officers that she needed to go to the hospital because she had lost her baby.

Officers went to her home and discovered Thomas' 5-week old child, Chase James Urijan Harrison, deceased.

Based on what Thomas told police, she was charged with child abuse and first degree murder.
