hey binary, do you still have those start buttons you posted before the board went down? :)

Updated first post with links :)

lilbluedawg, I'm working on them.

Chris

2 things:

Were there any changes in 2.0 outside of the new colors? Not that I've ever found any bugs, but if there were fixes I'll update otherwise ergonomic is all I need :)

Also, weren't there plans for a watercolor webpage with all of these resources? It would be nice to have a website bookmarked instead of a forum to always make sure I've got the latest version.

When I have time, perhaps I'll make a main page to my site. :) As for the differences, I dont think there are many, if any. Just the updated colour schemes.

Chris

have a timeframe for next release (hopefully including black substyle)? i'm just wondering. :)

Within a few weeks. I'm working on the theme on weekends only, so it's kinda hard to give an accurate date. Plus with all the flamming i got last time I didnt deliver on time... I think I've learned my lesson and dont make release date promises I cant keep :)

Chris

bug:

the console wont show up all the way when i use kerio's administration.

it's very weird. it shows up at the bottom kind of but i cant get into anything...

look......

Hmmm no idea, I dont use that program...

it's only with watercolor?

Chris

The scrollbars in the shell sytle need to be watercolored.  I'm sure you knew that though. >.<

there is no shellstyle....

that would be why they arnt skinned. If your using ergonomic, blue, gray or green; just drop the old shellstyles into the new theme.

Chris

The two bugs I noticed in Watercolor 1.0 are still present in this version. Specifically, there are no check marks in the Scanner and Camera Wizard. There should be a check in the box by each of the pictures in the screenshot below:

camerawizard.png

Secondly, the toolbar in XnView tends to "grow" whenever you mouse over a button while viewing a large picture. The button will hang down a few pixels below the toolbar on mouseover, like so:

overhang.png

The overhang is across the complete width of the button, like on the "forward" button in the above screenshot. The other buttons in the picture only have partial overhangs, because the overhang disappears after being covered by a tooltip.

I havent found out the cause of the bit depth checkbox bug yet. Currently you must be running XP in 32 bit mode for them to work correctly.

As for the xnview bug, I use xnview and have never came across this, perhaps it's your video card.

yeah, only with wc

Well, that explains that one. Thanks.
As for the xnview bug, I use xnview and have never came across this, perhaps it's your video card.

It might be. See if you can replicate it with the following procedure:

  • Set XnView for "Fit images to window, large"
  • Close the program
  • Make XnView your default viewer for jpeg
  • Open an image you know to be larger than your screen size by double clicking on the file name in Explorer

This is what does it for me. If I open XnView first, and then open the file from there, everything is fine. But opening large files from Explorer produces the bug.

hmmm I see. Well it's not a big concern, so it isnt a big prior:)y :) If it gets fixed in the future, then it will, but I'm not going to try and solve rogue bugs for individual programs when I'm already stressed for time. So:(y :(

*edit* heh, I fixed it in about 2 seconds;). ;) the fix will be in the next minor update which will probably be once I fix the checkbox bug.

    • There are so many of these apps now that do this, what do people recommend?
    • Just the price of doing business. The scamble to pull as much from the web as possible is happening, and it's happening before a case like this changes how or what is legal do to with AI in terms of data harvesting. But even then as we've seen with the likes of Google who ignore cookie requests and just accept the fact they'll get fined, it's built into their business price model now. AI is here, its not going away. Their reward if any from the court case would be best suited to trying to incorprate AI or licence their end points as authentic human verified content. The problem is, as we've seen these same news papers are using AI themselves.

    • This Chinese company is reportedly developing a feature Apple and Samsung can only dream of by Hamid Ganji While companies like Apple and Samsung have been relatively conservative with their devices’ battery capacities in recent years, Chinese manufacturers have taken the competition to the next level by introducing significantly larger batteries. However, the latest report from China suggests that a local company may already be developing a smartphone with a whopping 14,000mAh battery. Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station claimed on Weibo that a smartphone maker is developing a device with a 14,000mAh battery. If true, it would be the largest battery ever used in a smartphone and could, in theory, provide up to a week of battery life on a single charge. The leaker did not reveal the name of the company behind the device, but there are some clues. This week, HONOR unveiled the X80 Pro Max in China with an 11,000mAh battery and 90W wired charging support. The company also launched the Honor Win in January, which packs a 10,000mAh battery. HONOR, a former subsidiary of Huawei, has a proven track record of developing smartphones with unusually large batteries. However, other Chinese brands, including Xiaomi, have also launched devices such as the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max with 7,500mAh batteries. Though Chinese users on Weibo also believe the company behind the new battery is HONOR. Interestingly, Digital Chat Station said the device with the 14,000mAh battery weighs around 220 grams, making it lighter than the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max (233 grams) and slightly heavier than the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (214 grams). The iPhone 17 Pro Max currently packs a 5,088mAh battery in eSIM-only versions, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 5,000mAh battery. Neither device is expected to see a dramatic increase in battery capacity in its next-generation successor. So when it comes to battery comparison, Chinese brands are unbeaten. HONOR smartphones are currently available in the EU, but the Chinese brand has no official presence in the United States due to restrictions imposed by the U.S. government.
