AdzzzUK
Okay, it's possible to do, but it takes a bit of technical prowess, not much, just a bit. Okay, here's what you do... 1. Locate msgina.dll in your Windows\System32 directory and copy it to another folder on your computer. Rename it msgina2.dll. 2. Download the free Resource Hacker from http://delphi.icm.edu.pl/ftp/tools/ResHack.zip, extract the files and run ResHack.exe 3. Click File>Open, navigate to the folder where you just copied msgina2.dll and open that file. 4. Click the + icon next to Bitmap, click the + icon next to 107, then highlight the entry 1033. In the right-hand pane you should see your standard XP Logon bitmap. 5. Save the bitmap to a file (Action>Save [bitmap...]) and then open that file in your image editor, make your changes (or create a completely new image) and save. 6. Return to ResEdit, with 1033 still selected, click Action>Replace Bitmap. Locate the bitmap you just saved and load it in. 7. Click File>Save, exit ResEdit, and copy msgina2.dll into your System32 folder. 8. Go to Start>Run and type 'regedit' to launch the Windows registry editor. 9. Find the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\ and then create the subkey Ginadll (this should be a String value). 10. Edit the Ginadll subkey so that it contains: msgina2.dll 11. Exit regedit and reboot. Your changes should take effect. ---Outline based on http://www.windowsitpro.com/Windows/Articl...6848/26848.html
Wraith8
Thanks for this :) One additional question, the above changes the heading for the logon screen and the ctrl+alt+del window, however it doesn't change for the shutdown window (as in the one with the drop down options, not the user-switching version). Any ideas?
