Verizon and Samsung buying Nokia Lumia search keywords on Twitter

I guess neither Verizon or Samsung are complacent about the success of Nokia?s Lumia range,

with both companies choosing to pollute twitter search results for the Lumia and Nokia Lumia 900

with irrelevant ads for their phones and services.

I guess we have moved beyond the ignore and the laughing phase to the fighting phase. And

everyone knows what?s next?

...

I kinda find "tactics" like this useless. How many people that are searching for information on a specific phone are going to change their behaviour based on a few banner ads or flashy marketing slogans?

I doubt many, if any.

Thats made me laugh... its no where close to being success... success is when you sell millions and millions and fly like a storm.

Lumia is not even close to the units that Galaxy note sold!! Lumia sold 1 million in 2 months and galaxy note sold 5 million in 5 months about 3 months ago.

i am sure Lumia 900 got a good start but it would have just caught up with Note by selling 1 million a month.

back to topic!! where is the proof. why cant it be twitters fault? these can happen

I think they saw this:

http://wmpoweruser.c...le-search-term/

And nobody knows the sales figure for Lumia. The companies only confirmed that its sales "exceeded expectation", and that it is very highly rated.

And also, this is not a random ad, or, Twitter's fault. These keywords have been purchased by these companies (as mentioned below the tweet):

where does exceed expectation means high sales.

selling 100k device might be exceed expectation comparing Lumia was never been so popular.

where does it says exceed expectation has a number? ha?

Actually, you just prove my point. :)

You were giving a sales figure, and I just said that we don't have any info on that. "Exceeds expectations" was the only thing we got out from Nokia and AT&T.

The sales number i gave is not an assumption. its an official number from Samsung and Nokia..

There are no sales numbers for the Nokia Lumia 900, Nokia's flagship phone. You're quoting sales numbers for the earlier models. Sales numbers for when the Lumia phones were only available in a couple countries. The Lumia 900 still isn't available in the UK, is it? By all accounts, the Lumia 900 is selling much much better than phones you are talking about.

The second quarter ends next week - here's hoping for some great sales numbers!
