Guidelines on posting from other sites
by Barney T.- 0 replies
If you plan on posting news that is from other sources or news sites, please keep the following in mind: 1) Please do not post entire articles from other sources. Most news organizations prohibit copy & pasting of their entire article. It is against the "fair usage" policy set by most news outlets. They expect a paragraph posted, at most, with a link to their article's web page. 2) Make sure that you link to the original article. Not quoting a copied article is against the copyright laws of most countries. 3) When linking to external sources, keep thread and article titles the same. If you have questions, please PM any staff member. Thank you for your considera…

Just a heads up/reminder... This PM is a good example of what has been happening lately with blog spam. Because they write their own stories... you just copy and paste + source it... Once you come up with original content and create your own articles then you can post them... but don't expect to generate hits by posting your blog full of copy and pasted news. shockz ..... Remember... posting a link to your blog with sourced news instead of your own original content is prohibited. Anymore issues and you will be banned and your site added to our spam list. shockz If you find news and want to post it here... just post the news with the orignal source …

by Sir Topham Hatt- 2 replies

We’ve commissioned five new custom fonts–which should be the next default font? Default fonts are perhaps most notable in the absence of the impression they make. We seldom give them much thought, and therein lies their greatest gift. When a font blends into the background of a user experience, people can jump right into the creative process and stay grounded in their thoughts rather than thinking about the form those thoughts take. Still, while default fonts may not have the same flair as some of their more eye-catching cousins (we’re looking at you, Bauhaus 93 and Showcard Gothic), they communicate a distinct personality in their own quiet way—a …

A few days ago, Microsoft released KB5015807, officially titled "2022-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H1". This update adds two mysterious toggle buttons to the Settings apps: You can find these settings under "Update & Security" tile > "Recovery" tab > "Support" section. The two toggle buttons read: Collect dumps with logs. Collect! These poorly worded items have no additional explanations.

Who hacked The DAO in 2016, diverting 3.6 million ether? We identify the apparent hacker — he denies it — by following a complicated trail of crypto transactions and using a previously undisclosed privacy-cracking forensics tool. ethereum, the second biggest crypto network, is worth $360 billion. Its creator, Vitalik Buterin, has more than 3 million Twitter followers, has made videos with Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, and has met with Vladimir Putin. Elden Ring players are buying millions of runes on eBay Be warned: Gray market rune sales could earn you a ban. You probably shouldn't try to buy or sell Elden Ring runes on eBay, but in case you're wondering, that is a thing now. A quick search on eBay reveals dozens of listings offering millions of runes for anywhere from $10 to $25, with some listings advertising hundreds of millions of runes for several hundred dollars. So far, it looks like a few hundred listings have sold through. Since there's no way to directly send runes (the currency players use to level up) from one account to another in Elden Ring, these gray market deals ar…

The metaverse stole the show at the world’s biggest mobile event — and things got weird “Metaverse” was the term on everyone’s lips at this year’s Mobile World Congress, which is the world’s biggest mobile trade show. It’s a hazy concept, but “metaverse” is broadly used to describe vast digital worlds in which users can work, play games or even party. And things seemed to get even less clear at MWC. But analysts believe it’s here to stay. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/03/04/the-metaverse-stole-the-show-at-mobile-world-congress.html

Hacksawing a Motherboard Helped Me Set a 12900K Overclocking Record I set a Cinebench world record on Alder Lake by destroying a motherboard. Intel’s Alder Lake has retaken the performance crown from AMD, but in some cases, chip bowing issues have resulted in sub-par cooling. I took a hacksaw to a motherboard to help fix the issue, resulting in an extra 50 MHz of clock speed that put me over the top, winning a world record with the Core i9-12900K in Cinebench R23 at 6.95 GHz. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-12900k-world-record-with-hacksaw
