step by step to fixed a Nexus 7 2013 brick

Recommended Posts

If you seen some of my post I've had a Nexus 7 (2013) for over 10 months. I like it and would upgrade it to the 2014 model by it change to a 9 inch and double the price. Anyway my Nexus is brick and will not get pass the google screen with lock icon. I've try to unbrick it but its hard to do so. Is there an easy video ir something that I stupid person like me to fix it? I have try to reset to factory setting but didn't work.

I'm in contact with Google over mine, I can't unlock it to flash anything on it

Try the Nexus Root Toolkit, http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/, youi might be able to use it to unlock and flash  a factory image or a custom ROM, your choice, didn't work for me, and I've rooted a few devices, it walks you through the process if you are new to unlocking, rooting and flashing

Ive posted this before but I dont recall seeing if you tried this.  This is how to revert it to the original stock firmware/settings.  When all else fails, always good to try to revert completely back to stock, if you can, and start over like new.

Ive had issues where I messed my phone up and it wouldnt boot past the OEM logo or android logo.  Had to revert back to stock and all was well after that.  Had to reroot and everything...but that is no big deal.

Also, may want to contact ASUS to see if it still under warranty.

So you can get in to fastboot.  Should be able to slap on the default/stock firmware then.

Did you manage to unlock yours? I'm still stuck at the unlock step

How are you stuck?  What is the device doing....or not doing?  And what guide you using?  Post the link please

Will not unlock at all, just sits there at the screen and eventually, hours layers just fails

What guide are you using?  Post the link to it.  And I am guessing you have the 2013 N7?

Yeah 2013 Wi-Fi, tried every guide posted on XDA, tried using Wug's toolkit and force, just will not unlock

Ok, so you  can get in to fastboot.  Try these commands...just came upon them while looking at your issue

fastboot erase boot

fastboot erase cache

fastboot erase recovery

fastboot erase system

fastboot erase userdata

Then

fastboot oem unlock

It's getting late here, will run this in the morning and update

K. Just FYI, the bootloader shouldnt take that long to unlock.  If you are waiting more than a few min, it will probably fail.

Seems I done really broke something

No command seems to respond other than unlock, and even that took manually removing cable, and going into fastboot

Got into recovery and cache and factory resets all fail with failed to mount errors

Seems I can get into ADB mode in recovery, but last time I tried to push something it failed, forget what it was
