The boyfriend, who wasn?t identified, told police that the couple had bought a gun because of fears of unrest related to the pending grand jury decision on the shooting of Michael Brown,? cnn.com reports. ?He told investigators that as they drove late Friday night, the victim waved a gun, jokingly saying the couple were ready for Ferguson. He ducked to get out of the way of the gun and accidentally rear-ended another car. He said the accident caused the gun to go off and she was struck by a bullet in the head.? Something about her finger being on the trigger at the time, and pointing the gun in an unsafe direction, I imagine. Still, it?s perfect grist for the Gun Sense Demanding Moms? mill. See? You?re safer without a gun! Unless you aren?t. To paraphrase General George S. Patton ? a Colt 1903 guy ? the trick is to make the other person win a Darwin Award

This is why everyone should have to be trained on firearms and safety before they can walk out the door... I know even trained people can be idiots but you should have at lease the basics down first..

I won't even buy a gun, why? Because I don't trust myself with one

Being loaded & chambered is not a problem with many modern double actions, my SIG P250 included, but something tells me this was a single action carried stupidly.

I honestly thought this was some kind of hoax from the Onion or something...

But turns out someone was really that irresponsible with a loaded gun... One in the chamber and waving it around like they on a Hollywood set.

My condolences to anyone who was hurt or worse...

Please people out there who are into guns or whatever, can we be a little more responsible.

Unlike CoD, there are NO respawns...

I will never understand people who dont give guns their respect.

Growing up around guns like I have, there was never an issue of someone being stupid.  Even to this day, I will ask before handling a gun when @ my parents' house.  THey have a safe room (panic room) and my dad has his workbench in the garage, when I am in there with him, to this day, I will ask before touching anything.  When I was younger, we (my brother and sister) knew better than to screw around - its not a toy.

Some people deserve what happens to them I think.

Playing around with LOADED gun in a driving car?

 

 

What the hell.   I am not sure what the laws are in thier location, but a gun should be in a trunk, locked up.     Unless they absolutely needed a load gun...  even then it should not be waved around!

Wish I had a dollar for every accidental death or serious injury I've seen that didn't involve firearms. Cars, boats, bikes, power tools, simply tripping over their own feet etc. The numbers aren't even close. Life is dangerous and no one gets out alive.

The problem with this argument is that it can be used with anything.  Alcohol, tobacco, abortion, any race of person, political parties, etc.  And it would be just as valid... or not.

Over 18 in MI we can, except for a blade over 3", nunchuks or fighting stars. So long as it was legally obtained.

If a girl in a skirt bends over the first thing you see may be a 9mm automatic in a thigh holster.

Well that was early on. Since then they've taken hair weave, torched some police cars, looted a McDonalds, liquor store, and a Boost mobile. That was all before I went to bed.

 

Waiting to see if any Apple Stores get hit, but Apple has a pretty good riot protocol where they empty out the stores in advance.
