Does IPOD support APE format music?

No, it does not support Monkeys Audio.

It supports the following audio formats: AAC , MP3 , Audible, Apple Lossless and PCM (AIFF & WAV).

Just convert your Monkeys Audio files to Apple Lossless and enjoy the lossless audio quality! :D

lossless with APE

:o

so how big usually is it for an album

i know it is 200-300M for an album with APE format

I havent done a comparison between Monkeys Audio (APE) and Apple lossless (ALAC), but if we say ALAC have 5-10% bigger files its about right. ;)

ALAC does not have the best compression, but at least its supported in iTunes, iPod and AirTunes!

i do not care how big it is

just wanna know the quality:)

APE is available for Mac, Linux, and Windows too (listening to APE files using XMMS on SUSE right now) so "multiple platforms" for FLAC is a moot point.

Are you sure Monkeys Audio can beat this? Windows, GNU/Linux, *BSD, Solaris, Mac OS X, IRIX, BeOS, OS/2, and Amiga... I guess not. :p

Afaik there are no native Mac OS X player with Monkeys Audio support.

But which is better is just personal opinion, lets leave it there! ;)
