Unable to access Neowin after IPB upgrade

Since Oct-11-2004 I'm having trouble connecting to neowin. I get a time out error. I can get the main page via www.google.com/language_tools. But that way I can't access page scripts and functions, so I cannot logon. Please tell me if the upgrade you did change a connection port or it has something to do with it. I'm behind a firewall here @ work where I connect to your website.

he can't access the main page or the forum... as he said he can only access them through the google language translator..

Same happened to me, I could visit the iPB 2.0 page for a day.

another question to the admins..

has the icmp port been blocked, or is it using another port other than 80 to communicate?

ive gotten email reports of some issues of this same sort.

it could be related to the dns info of the new server.

has he flushed his dns?

he just tried flushing his DNS.. and still doesnt work..

he says he cant ping neowin.net either.

he's also checked his host file and even added the neowin allias w/ the ip address.

still does not work for him..

any more suggestions?

what happens when he pings neowin?

Does it give him a IP address? Is he on his own computer, or at work?

A lot of corporations have copies of webpages on their own server to reduce bandwidth. What may have happened is that a DNS flush has to be done on that server. Hope he is friends with an admin there

Mmmhmm... this is quite wierd. I didnt have any problems with that. Maybe clearing ur cache might work... Is your friend in ur local community? Then it cant be the ISP. Probably something with his computer... right?

its his work computer..

i was just suggestion he clear his cache.. and then yes, i also hope he's good friends with the admin. ;)
