A good, free office suite for Mac OS X?

Recommended Posts

Well according to the OS X screenshots of the OS X version of OO.o, I don't know if that would be the best choice. Visually it looks ugly as hell. I do think that I've read of this "AbiWord" thing .... but that's just a text editor, right? Something that can support MS Powerpoint files and maybe MS Excel files would be nice. :)

Thanks.

It may be ugly, but it still gets the job done if you don't want to pay for Office.

EDIT: Do you think if I create a new account will I get a renewal of the 30 day testdrive?

It should just be a matter of removing any traces of it from your applications and preferences folders, then running the installation again. Shouldn't be too difficult to get around it (not that I'm condoning that sort of thing).

Well you know, I myself would never do a thing like that  It just came to my mind

Not that I am going to do this BUT if I deleted it from my application and preferences folder where would that installation file be?

OpenOffice is good because it gets the job done but you don't get that eye candy. I know I can get office 2004 student edition but I don't have the money right now. I will eventually get it but in the mean time I am still trying to fine that install file for office like roadwarrior said.

As I recall, you can download the test drive from Microsoft's Mac page.

No problem. One thing I did notice when looking at the test drive version is that it won't print :( . There are a few other restrictions too (only a few templates, etc.). At least it will help you decide if you want to spend the money on the full version.

Well I cant print from my home any way because there is a problem with the printer. Therefore I have to save it to a disk and print at school. Still works for me though..Thx.
