How to speeed up on W2k for boot?

defrag your bootfiles. try tunexp from driverheaven.net

and remove alot of unnecessary startup entries (run -> msconfig)

You can also replace the NT Boot Loader on 2000 with the XP/2003 one.

You know the "Starting Windows..." part, when replaced i don't even see the bar anymore on my computer (just like XP) and the Windows 2000 screen comes up right away.

Okie i did it and it does help speeding up to boot.

after some looking on the web i was able to do it. it does help. it does boot faster than it did before, as in getting to the logo faster. the two files I replaced are ntdetect.com and ntldr

I replaced the files in safe mode just to be safe. might work in normal mode no idea. try it out :)
