Si Veteran Posted January 18, 2006 Veteran Share Posted January 18, 2006 Today my newest toy arrived, the 20" iMac Core Duo. I am loving it so far, the universal binary apps are indeed way fast as we have been told. Apps under Rosetta are usable but it's not anything like the native ones. Having owned a Mac in the past, the switch to OS X was not a huge surprise for me, but I am still looking for ways to do things that were so easy in Windows (thumbnails in finder? right click -> set as wallpaper?). Just waiting for that hack to get XP installed on here now... Now, a question I have for you guys is this - can I get the display to be blanked when the machine is being accessed via vnc? I've tried the built in server and osxvnc, and I can't seem to do it? Here are a couple of pics, sorry for the poor quality :D

theyarecomingforyou
Surely you'd need to clean the glass quite often with your arms resting on it? Still, it looks amazing.
DjmUK
One thing I still don't understand. Why are people trying hard to get XP on the Mac system? My Opinion 1.) It's cheaper to build your own custom system with higher specs; 2.) The hardware will be outdated very quickly and (1) seems like a cheaper option to upgrade; 3.) If I buy a mac (I will one day), then it will be exclusively for the Operating System (Mac 'greater than' XP); 4.) It's annoying that Mac OS X x86 isn't available, which is why the Mac Mini (Intel) system is what I'm looking for. P.S. That's a nice iMac you have their (20" too) :)
