BitTorrent is a P2P system that makes transfering large files (or groups of files) amongst a large group of people easy, fast and efficient. The BitTorrent network is impressive mostly for the speed and reliability with which you get files that have been recently released. As long as a .torrent file has enough people sharing then you can be assured that it will start quickly and maintain a good download speed. Always remember to leave your BitTorrent client open to help distribute the files! Read the FAQ before installing AutoPatcher: v1.1: download (26.13kb) (made by raptor) With this version, you don’t need to decompress the amp files before using AutoPatcher. Just insert the amp module you want in the specific folder (\addons, etc) and AutoPatcher will take care of it. IE6SP1 is a major update, if you dont have it installed prior to using autopatcher, make sure its selected for installation the first time you do, otherwise there can be serious consequences. Also note that some updates will only be available to install after IE6SP1 is installed, so youll need to run AP at least twice. maxkohl
Thank you TheBlazingAngel and the entire AP team! You're doing a great service to the community :) Let us not forget all the hosters too, who kindly host these files on their mirrors. I have to say I'm impressed with your dedication: You always talk about "a few days" after those "Patch Tuesday"s, yet the XP's AP Feb06 update was ready almost immediately, and this 2k comes quite soon too. Amazing. Thanks! :)

maxkohl
Can anyone please comment on the following issues please? 1. AP 2k Feb06 update (over Dec05 full + Jan06 update) detected IE6 SP1 as not installed?!? (under a good old well oiled machine o/c). 2. Macromedia Flash Player - I somehow (not sure who's fault) ended up with two entries in the "Add/Remove Programs" of my Win2k, yet some site wanted me to install it like it wasn't already there? (out of the bloom again, as the PC was operating fine until then w/all flash media). Nevertheless, I uninstalled both entries (one gave error o/c, but got away anyway), and installed a stand-alone flash active-x offline executable from macromedia's site - so far I have one entry in the add/remove, and sites seems to work fine now. I'm not sure what to make of this two issues - I got over both of them, but if anyone else encountered that too, then maybe there's a basis for refining AP 2k. Thanks. maxkohl
^ 1. I simply reinstalled it by ap's suggestion (settings were saved anyway. all I had to do was get rid of the quicklaunch icon :D ). 2. perhaps...as I said - I'm not sure who's fault was it - I posted to see if anyone else can confirm. anyone? those were the only issues, anyway - great work! on all platforms ;) thanks. kevingpo
Please please BlazingAngel can you make a FULL English AutoPatcher2K Feb2006 release. I do not like the patches/updates because it means I have to use 2 updates after the Dec2006 release. Please please can you make a FULL English one. Thanks! PCjunkie
I bet if you hang on for a few releases there might be a "FULL" version in the near future.
maxkohl
^^^ - what's the big deal with full releases? 1. there's also a full feb06 - it's called "beta", but seems to work fine*. 2. there are instructions somewhere here about repacking your own folder into a customized "full" one. 3. I never did "repacking" per se, but I found that a simple archiving does the exact trick for me... (plus, once you do such simple archiving, it's a matter of SFXing and having "AutoPatcher.exe /noeula /defaults:..." as a run-after-extract command, and you're good to go - don't know what's that "defaults" parameter doing there? see the sticky command-line arguments thread) * regarding #1: "fine", means after you understand that for some reason you need to SHIFT-click on the "select-all" in order for it to work...(is that coz of the unofficial thingy? that explains the horrible red/orange colors as well...a real soar to LCD-watching eyes...) EDIT: Next time I'll pay cautious attention to what ap thread exactly (2k vs. xp) I'm replying in...
