Corona is a pretty neat new UI concept from Microsoft. If only THAT had been the new look of Windows XP.

Alexandrie has created what is (in my opinion) the most true Corona UI inspiration yet:

Not really. It looks more like the Corona graphics were taken and slapped over a makeshift Luna theme. The defualt Windows "Start" button is fairly bland and ordinary, the taskbar hide icon looks fairly ordinary, and the "Logout" and "Turn off Computer" icons don't look anything like Corona. Some of the other Corona themes like Bant's look more a lot more realistic with actual Corona buttons incorporated into the GUI. This looks more like what Luna would be if it had Corona shaped windows and colors. :x

When an msstyle can handle irregularly shaped borders, let me know.

Take a closer look at the left border and bottom border and tell me again how the msstyle based corona's look more authentic with their 4 pixel all the way around borders.

There is also a nice roll up button on this and the start menu is very nice and corona like (also irregularly shaped).

Oh regarding oranged - you can make XP Corona any color you'd like. WB 3.4 and on supports smart coloring so you can just choose any color you like. (though in fairness, I had to tweak the upper right part of the title bar to make it look just right).

Maybe we can talk Alexandrie into optimizing it for coloring.

(I'm running my as grayscaled).

:right:

I nor anyone else claimed that msstyles could reproduce that same border effect. The point is if you actually bothered reading it was besides the one or two minor buttons and the colored borders, there's still a LOT of Luna there. But as usual we're treated with Frogboy's typical attitude about how Windowblinds is better then msstyles and therefore their styles must be better. :right:

I may have to purchase windowblinds again if i see more cool skinz like this come out for WB. However, I don't like the way the evaluation version seems to have disabled the use of msstyles. That should be fixed.

Just hold down CTRL when you go into Display Properties and you should be able to select them fine (or just unload WB by setting it to nothing, then select your styles in the Desktop tab [iIRC]).

klyde: re-read thee thread:

this looks like all the other 10milliongazillion corona themes.

I don't agree that it looks like Luna. This looks to me what Corona would look like if Microsoft made it for the entire OS rather than media player. YMMV.

Ah another useless Luna is better then windowsblinds thread, no it's not, yes it is, no it's....................I just love these.

I'm glad there is choice and I concede that Windowsblinds is slowly improving but I still can't find windowsblinds themes that I can actually use.

Not to many Visual styles are great for everyday use either, oh well nice to look at at least.

    • Microsoft about to radically change how often your Edge browser updates by Paul Hill Microsoft has just announced that starting with Edge 152, it will be moving to a two-week release cycle for faster, smaller updates. This faster release cadence will begin on August 27. This change comes just several months after Microsoft switched Visual Studio Code to weekly updates. The company said that the Extended Stable releases will remain on an eight-week cycle and that no admin changes are needed to experience the faster release cycle on the Stable channel. The new two-week release cycle will enable the faster delivery of security updates and platform improvements, all while reducing the size and complexity of individual updates. Microsoft claims that organizations will benefit from this change as it offers predictable validation cycles. For organizations that prefer a “more deliberate pace”, the Extended Stable channel remains an option. This change will affect Edge Stable releases on Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile. The Extended Stable channel will continue to be updated every eight weeks, or every fourth Stable release, for example: versions 152, 156, 160, and 164. The Extended Stable could be a good option for organizations that don’t want the latest updates twice a month and don’t want as much hassle constantly updating browsers. In the case of Visual Studio Code, many of the updates being pushed by Microsoft are AI-related. As we all know, Microsoft Edge has a lot of AI features, so we could see Microsoft pushing more AI, thanks to the faster cycles. On the flip side, quicker releases could mean faster security updates, which is beneficial in a world where AI systems are hunting for software exploits. What do you think? Let us know in the comments. For more updates on Edge, be sure to follow Neowin's coverage. In May alone, we reported on Edge offering in-browser pop-ups to assist users with website compatibility issues, that Edge was losing Copilot Mode, and that Microsoft had fixed a plain-text password bug in Edge. It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future.
