Yet another logon right? Well no not really. I finally figured out how to make the buttons truly alpha-blended. So here you go. A version of my Aero logon with alpha-blended buttons.

What's the point? Well now you don't have to fudge with magic pink and jaggies. You can use more transparency and the buttons will be perfectly blended with whatever happens to be in the background.

I though I had updated my guide to modding logon screens to include this. But apparently not. I will update it ASAP. In the meantime - if you use ResEdit - you can just use your own 32 bit images for the controls.

**Edit**. OK updated guide: http://www.jools.net/resources/logon-uifile-secrets/

Nice one ;)

But how can we export transparent bmp's from photoshop if you please tell me.

Follow the Resedit link in my original post. Then when you edit the resource it will export the BMP as a PNG and run Photoshop on it. Then when you save your image it will convert the PNG back into a 32 bit BMP and import it back into the logon.

Try it. Its easier than it sounds.
