Will it work for the other screensavers?

I would like the Aurora!

post-121942-1165086802_thumb.jpg

Doesnt work with RTM?

I dont know...i am still downloading my RTM from connect (Beta tester, got has a gift from Good Microsoft..(Vista bussiness)!!)

And it also works for Aurora...i thing we can start using /p65552 with the screensaver...

If you dont like this..use Alt+F4 to close this...or use Flpi3d to change back to your desktop..

Yup..works fine! You lose your desktop icons though, and it steals focus from time to time...but it's still cool, none the less.

Do all know how to create boot config to XP..bcos i was using dual boot, but i just installed vista rc1 again, but my xp boot is lost(since i formatted c:\ using vista setup)..

Is there anyway i can boot into XP..bcos, i am using it has my devlopment machine!!

It is indeed very cool! like Long said though not motion desktop, as the screensaver is on the taskbar, its just a screensaver that doesnt turn itself off when your mouse moves and its also not in the foreground. I like :D

ssbranded.scr is quite good, but it sure does seem to lag the desktop!

I know that this is just a screensaver in the desktop...but i named it so to grab the attention..anyhow i am looking for the real motion desktop soon in jan 30th 2007 retail demonstration

This is not new: http://www.istartedsomething.com/20061004/...desktop-aurora/ (October 4th, 2006)

This is not Motion Desktop. This is simply screensavers on the desktop.

gee no kidding.

@ guruparan Way to knowingly make an inaccurate title just to get attention.

just wait for the real motion desktop, it will look nothing like this.

It doesnt work very good on RTM it still hides desktop shortcuts and taskbar, to top it off it keeps a command prompt window icon showing all the time on your taskbar.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

THERE IS A MOTION DESKTOP

MS IS WORKING WITH SOME PARTNERS (like startdock etc)

"Something very very cool but unannounced

We are also working on something very very cool in partnership with Microsoft but can't yet publicly discuss"..

I thought someone will inform this...but nobody did!

So it will be available for Ultimate users as special downloads..

Of course it will work with RTM, this is how the desktop control applet does it's previews, it passes the handle of the preview screen as the /p parameter to the screensaver, pass it another handle (e.g. the desktop's) and it will draw there.

And the speed will depend on the screensaver, you can't make a blanket statement that there's no performance decrease as every screensaver is different

Although /p65770 doesn't work. you should try the bubbles screen saver. Though you can't use the desktop, it's still pretty damn amusing to see the bubbles floating around the desktop.

Though the bubbles seem come in, indefinitely. Probably not a good idea anyway.

    • AltSendme 0.4.1 by Razvan Serea AltSendme is a minimal, cross-platform application designed for fast, secure, and private peer-to-peer file transfers. It allows users to send files or entire directories directly between devices without relying on cloud servers, accounts, or any personal information. Everything is encrypted end-to-end using modern protocols like QUIC and TLS 1.3, ensuring both strong security and low-latency performance. Transfers are verified with BLAKE3 for data integrity, and interrupted downloads automatically resume, making the experience reliable even on unstable connections. You can transfer anything—images, videos, documents, and more. Integrity checks are performed on both ends, so your files are automatically verified for correctness during both sending and receiving. AltSendme works seamlessly across local networks or long-distance links, capable of saturating multi-gigabit connections for extremely fast delivery. With built-in NAT traversal and encrypted relay fallback, it connects devices almost anywhere. The app integrates with the Sendme CLI and will soon support mobile and web platforms. Fully free and open-source, AltSendme offers a lightweight, privacy-first alternative to traditional cloud-based services, removing size limits, upload costs, and unnecessary data exposure. AltSendme 0.4.1 changelog: Release Highlights Self-hosted relays: Run your own iroh relay so transfers don't rely on public infrastructure. Includes a full deployment template in deploy/relay/ with Docker Compose for a VPS and configuration examples for production use. Fly.io support: One-click deploy template for Fly.io, including a quick-start config (fly.dev.toml) for testing without a custom domain, plus production setup with Let's Encrypt and your own hostname. Relay settings UI: New Settings → Network panel to choose how AltSendme connects: automatic public relays, custom self-hosted URLs (with optional auth token), or disabled. Test connections, verify latency, and see live relay status in the footer. Disable relays: Turn off relay servers entirely when you only need same-network transfers (e.g. LAN). Direct connections only. No relay hop required when devices can reach each other. Android graduates from beta: Android is now part of the regular release cycle alongside desktop. APKs ship with each version (universal, arm64, and armv7). • You are mostly right about the ephemeral nature of it. As I mention in the article, if you dont add a second device or take a backup of your account before uninstalling it, then yes you will lose access to your account. That said, in terms of actual user experience when you sync multiple devices your message history carries across and there's also a Saved Messages chat like there is on Telegram to send messages and attachments between your installs. But yh, what you point out are correct and its not trying to emulate Messenger or Telegram.
    • OK so SearXNG is a meta search engine that you can install locally or use via a public instance. It scrapes other search engines which you choose and then sorts the results. Not as complicated as multiple relays
