how easy is it to install xp pro sp2 after having already installed vista x64 ultimate rtm on a different partition, i know its supposed to be easier installing xp first.

are there any guides for how to use this, screenshots showing this would be nice.

just install xp, install easybcd on it, use it to restore the vista loader, and add xp to it. 1, 2, 3 :)
