icon11.gif BitTorrent is a P2P system that makes transfering large files (or groups of files) amongst a large group of people easy, fast and efficient. The BitTorrent network is impressive mostly for the speed and reliability with which you get files that have been recently released. As long as a .torrent file has enough people sharing then you can be assured that it will start quickly and maintain a good download speed. Always remember to leave your BitTorrent client open to help distribute the files!

icon13.gif Read the FAQ before installing AutoPatcher

icon13.gif IE6SP1 is a major update, if you dont have it installed prior to using autopatcher, make sure its selected for installation the first time you do, otherwise there can be serious consequences. Also note that some updates will only be available to install after IE6SP1 is installed, so youll need to run AP at least twice.

First time poster, long time listener :)

There seems to be a problem, of the 2k December update, on my machine.

I did the usual procudure for Novemeber full, uninstalled previous AP's. I then installed November full and then December update as required. All updates were applied, except for .NET, and DRM stuff (windows media).

AP will not install the last 3 critical updates for December, them being KB925454, KB926121, KB926247. All others seem to install fine. Successive tries do not work. Event view seems to come up with this error, once on boot up and 3 times for the 3 failed updates:

RSM cannot manage library PhysicalDrive1. It encountered an unspecified error. This can be caused by a number of problems including, but not limited to, database corruption, failure communicating with the library, or insufficient system resources.

My system was working for November, was scanned for errors/virii/malware and everything else was aok.

Help appreciated.

@Mercz, as i do not know what is wrong i can't issue a fix, try installing the setup files manually and see if that works or not. if so, and its just a problem with the module, and someone knows how to fix it then of course i'll issue a fix.

926247 and 926121 are for optional components that are not installed with Windows by default.

The only thing I can think of for 925454 is that you don't have IE6SP1 installed, but it wouldn't show up if IE6SP1 wasn't already installed. It might be a detection error.

Actually, detection is fine. I have no idea what Mercz's problem could be.

Also, I just looked for obsolete fixes in AutoPatcher, and my results for AutoPatcher 2000 are:

Update: Replaced by:

KB896422 KB923414/KB891861

KB911567 KB923694

KB917422 KB924867

KB818043 KB839228

msxml3sp7 KB924191/KB891861

The errors I was getting seemed to be a rogue DVD-RAM driver that seem to have corrupted itself and Autopatcher didn't like it. Once I uninstalled the driver (and got rid of its trails too), the errors disappeared and AP semed to run fine until....KB925454.

I believe there is a mistake in KB925454's module path. It currently points to:

"C:\Program Files\AutoPatcher 2K\modules\Critical\KB925454_2K_enu.amc_files.amc_files\IE6.0sp1-KB925454-Windows2000-x86-ENU.exe" /quiet /norestart /overwriteoem

but the problem is that it is this on the hard disk:

KB925454_2K_enu.amc_files

ie there id an extra ".amc_files" on the end of the module path location in AP so it will never find the actual MS update file? Am i on the right track?

BTW as mentioned above, KB926121 and KB926247 are optional components so their behaviour then is as expected.
