JIMBO0940
after compressing my c drive vista on reboot said bootmgr is compressed so far i tried: expand bootmgr temp (which it accepted as being carried out) attrib boot mgr -s -r -h del boot mgr ren temp bootmgr attrib bootmgr -a +s +r +h exit this resulted in the same message on reboot i also tried : compact /u /s c:\*.* it said that it did not recognise "compact" i also told vista to repait itself it said it had repaired the bootmgr but it did not uncompress it i have now run kill disk because even a reinstall would not rectify it it is now working in its normal uncompressed state but i would still like to know why these so called fixes did not work!
