[Suggest] Camera for parents

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, my parents are still outdated and the camera they are using is like 25 years old. It's soooo difficult to convince people like this to change to new technology but since they're going to the UK in October I managed to convince them and buy a new simple to use digital camera. My new Canon PowerShot A540 results helped me :)

So as you may have already noticed, I'm searching for a good quality camera but very user friendly. As you can imagine they don't have a clue of what is the new technology; so 99.9% they will set it to Auto and just press the button and move on.

So, any suggestions? :p Thanks guys.

Hmm I thinking any camera with a IS lens that will help them get good shots in low light.

Keep an eye on things like does the camera take AA batteries or one that comes with it I much prefer cameras like both my canons that come with a canon battery and charger so you don?t have the cost of purchasing your own.

The best website for camera reviews is dpreview.com go and look at the reviews and use the feature where you can compare different cameras and see the pros and con side by site and go into the forums and see what people are saying.

id say ones where you can put in the commercial batteries like AA, AAA in are the best cameras, it saves money on buying spares which are usually expensive if its unique to the camera like DSLR Batteries usually are but dont nessessirily last longer than the uniqe ones unless u buy the Enegiser or duracel ones which can be about ?6 for only 4 of them if thats the case getting a camera with a unique batt would be easier an buying 1 spare
