Welcome to the Neowin photo gallery! Here you can post your pictures and discuss your photography techniques. Please be mindful of our members on dial-up and try to keep the dimensions of the pics and the size of the files to a respectable size for 1024 x 768 viewers. Please refrain from quoting images in your replies. I will also ask that you link to images on your own space, as much as possible. Try to put more details from your camera settings (EXIF) and also talk about what you have done with Photoshop (or similar). There are a lot of photographers here that like your editing skills and would like to learn more. The previous thread can be found here. …

I made a Flickr-to-Neowin posting WebApp 1 2 3
by Argote- 68 replies

First of all, the link: Argote's Flickr poster for IPB forums BETA Now... I've recently been a bit ****ed at how difficult it has become to post a photo from Flickr to Neowin and decided to make a Web-App to take care of that, you just enter your username (the one in you URL). For example, my flickr page is http://flickr.com/photos/argote/ so I'd enter argote into the box and click on the button. The codes to post any (or all) of your last 20 images will come up along with a thumbnail of the photo and you just copy it and paste it into Neowin (or any other IPB forum). So here's a couple of screenshots: And here's the link again: Argote's Flickr poster for IPB …

Problem with my Canon EOS Rebel T6 connecting to the PC

I thought at first the cable was the issue, so I ordered a replacement and it still does nothing when I plug the cable into the camera and turn it on. I have checked that I running the most up to date version of the EOS utility, and I am, and it still is not recognizing that the camera is plugged in. Is this a Windows issue or something else?

So I currently have my pics stored on Flickr, but all signs are pointing towards Flickr ending. I would like a free alternative to store my pictures on and easily share. I also have my pics backed up on Dropbox and Onedrive, but I like the way Flickr handles the uploading and sharing.

Found a Sony a6300 at "it's $5" for $5
by +warwagon- 1 reply

A couple weeks ago I went to "It's $5" .. it's the same store I found my "TicWatch Pro for $5". I was in there for 1 1/2 hours looking through 40+ bins (almost like Dumpster diving) and i'm ready to check out. As i'm standing in a LONG line, I keep looking through bins to my left as I slowly pull my cart ahead. All of the sudden I see a camera box. By this time you would think all the good stuff would be taken. I instantly knew it looked expensive. It was a Sony a6300 mirror-less camera. It was just the body with no lens attached. Someone probably already found it and dumped the lens out, as the box indicated there should have been a le…

I have a carrying case that came with my camera which holds the camera, and two lenses, however I have added additional items like extra batteries and lens filters, so I really do not have room in the bag anymore. I know that there are backpacks designed for DSLR cameras, and they have a crazy price range. So I am wondering does anyone use a specially designed backpack or do you simply use a standard backpack?

wedding Early last year I started a bridalwear photo project with a view to grow it, it's been a rolling success!

I thought it be good to share this little project here as can see a lot of posts about ideas and things. Last year I decded to kick start a new project. I shoot weddings (among many other things) and as it's hard to trying new ideas and techniques on an actual wedding, I wanted to do this in free time and bring onboard other professionals like hair/makeup, dress suppliers and most importantly, a model! Regarding the latter, I tried various time for print modelling sites in the past and most of them seem to be quite wooden and the portraits just didn't have a sense of connection between subject, camera and myself. I like my portraits to feel natural, even if p…

Rakuten (buy.com) has a Sony Alpha a6000 mirrorless camera for $498 I know nothing at all about the digital camera market now, and do not know if this is a good one or not. Feel free to suggest something else if this is not a good camera, my goal would be to stay under the $500 mark if at all possible.

Want to Buy an ND Filter
by Sir Topham Hatt- 9 replies

I took some photos of the moon last night but when I went to take some of the stars to get that streaky look, the moon blasted all the light so ended up with a white photo. Granted, it was the Super Moon but it got me thinking. My knowledge of photography isn't that great but I understand to stop as much light getting through the lens, I need an ND filter? I see prices are all over the place, but would something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112684893080 be good to get me started in the technique? Cheers

I currently have a Nikon D3300, which I really like. I mainly use the single-point AF feature, due to the excellent "depth of field" effect it gives on photos. However, the camera is too large and heavy for my trips abroad. I am hoping for some advice/suggestions with the following conditions: Must be smaller than my Nikon D3300 (W12cm, H10cm, L14cm with kit 18-55mm lens) Must be lighter than my Nikon D3300 (700g with stock battery and kit 18-55mm lens) Must offer single-point AF (for a similar depth of field effect) Ideally has 180° swivel screen for "selfies" Ideally has built-in GPS for photo geotagging…

360 Camera + Quadcoptor

So I haven't messed about with drones in a while, but had a thought last night... What if I take my Ricoh Theta 360 (vr camera) and strap it to the bottom of my drone? OK, so the quality here sucks, as I had it on the wrong mode, and I'm just flying about getting back into the swing of things, but the idea is awesome. Full 360 spherical video (look up, you see the quad) up in the air. The location is Bradgate Park in Leicester if anyone cares.
