juergen84
is it possible for the X-Fi (extreme music in particular) to use the front audio panel of your pc case? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/610055-x-fi-soundcard/ Share on other sites
pjak
Models that support Intel HD Front Panel Audio, are as follows: Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI Express) Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (Low-Profile PCI) Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer (Low-Profile PCI) They are NOT compatible with AC97 or Intel-compatible HD Front Panel Audio. However, from the list only the XtremeGamer card is actually worth buying. Get it OEM (bulk), if possible, for extra value. null_
Isn't the XtremeGamer the same thing as the XtremeMusic only with X-RAM and a low profile card? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/610055-x-fi-soundcard/#findComment-589096717 Share on other sites
pjak
Isn't the XtremeGamer the same thing as the XtremeMusic only with X-RAM and a low profile card? No, there are many differences between XtremeMusic and XtremeGamer. But in terms of Internal Connectors the XtremeMusic has them for the following: Analog CD cable [7], Digital Audio (SPDIF) [9-small] or [11], Internal Console [9-big], Power Input (needed when using external console) [8], and Creative Proprietary [6]. It has NONE for Front Panel Audio [10]! Here are the board layout diagrams: SB046X Series (includes XtremeMusic, Platinum and Fatal1ty) SB055X Series (includes Elite Pro) SB073X Series (includes XtremeGamer) Also, I have uploaded the official front panel [10] layout for the SB073X Series. http://rapidshare.com/files/80191239/SB073X.mht.html Edited December 30, 2007 by pjak Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/610055-x-fi-soundcard/#findComment-589098969 Share on other sites
