Not bad.... a bit to much glass if you ask me......

Try something that does not look like vista at all. Base designs off window blinds skins (with out coping them) and make thinner cleaner lines. Also I think it may be cool if you base some designs off the old longhorn bulids....

Nice job on the concept pics! Looks quite reasonable.

Unfortunately - and this is no offense to your work - I hate Vista's Aero look, so I hope they make something more unified and usable with Windows 7.

May i ask what you dont like about it? just wondering?

I dont like the XP UI. and i think you can understand why.....

Vista? I guess hes afraid he'll get finger prints on the glass

Haha, i love the vista glass and i just hate the XP ui, can't use it anymore. I'm forced to put windowblinds on any XP user account i have, ever since i heard about it :p. Not that i use XP anymore anyway.

Yeah where did you get that wallpaper, it is rather amazing =]

David.

It actually looks nice, nice job. :) Try making the window borders slimmer, too thick and I believe its one of things end users didn't like in Vista. I like the Gadgets especially the Media Player (which I hope will actually be back in for Win7) and the Alarm Clock. :)

May i ask what you dont like about it? just wondering?

I like simple and professional. The latest home-user Windows to do it correctly was Windows 2000. While XP and Vista have "Classic" themes - which I use, by the way - their default look seems bloated.

XP wasn't so bad. Eventually, people figured out how to hack the themes and make thinner start menus and window frames. I'm sure the same goes for Vista, but the fact that you need to modify the system in order for it to be professionally usable (or simply uncluttered) just doesn't sit right with me. It's like Windows wants you to know its there. With older versions and other operating systems, functionality was never sacrificed for the sake of eye candy.

Just my 2 cents.

    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before you try to pass someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.

    • There really isn't anything magical about the low latency profile, other OS's do this as well. All they're doing is using your CPUs boost clock options in a more smarter way.
    • So we shouldn't have the option because of people using their laptops on battery? OK? LOL
