The EOS 450D (Rebel XSi) builds on the success of the EOS 400D (Rebel XTi), adding live view, a new 12MP CMOS sensor and a smattering of new features (including boosted continuous shooting and spot metering). DIGIC III is ftw. Surprising that even with the MP increase, they managed to reduce the noise.

Their conclusion sums it up well though that they're targeting a new market with the camera. It's no longer a "true" entry-level like the original Rebels were but priced more to compete with the D80 and such.
