ok I designed a computer case and my case has my hdd standing up can this in anyway over time damage it i tested it out for a year and still that hdd run fine

I can't think of any part of a hdd that this could damage unless the hdd was gonna die anyways just want some other opinions

Personally i don't think it matters and as soon as ssd is cheap enough and capacity is large enough this won't even matter

Agreed. Dell for years had their hard disks mounted upright at the front of their case. Never had a single problem with the Maxtor Diamond Max. I guess the only thing is making sure it is mounted securely so that it doesn't move.
